Oldie...but a goodie.

When I was little, I had a Fisher Price Little Snoopy. You know, the one you pull around with the red string that has a squeaky little bark....yeah, that one. I still have mine packed away in the garage somewhere. I remember having so much fun with that toy. I decided to look one up on Ebay to buy for Reese. It's nice to know that there's a toy brand out there that will never let you down. Im a firm believer that Fisher Price makes some of the best toys around and the way Reese's face lights up when he hears the squeaky bark should be proof. :)

Oh well, we caught a few good ones, and hey...Justin was even smiling in a few ;) These are going to go out to family for Christmas this year...so if you're on the list, keep an eye out in your mail!

THIS IS IT

Last night my friend Lyz invited me to go see Michael Jackson's "This Is It" movie. I was BEYOND moved. I am a huge MJ fan, so just to sit there & see what he had planned for his last tour, and what could have been, was amazing. I caught myself, along with everyone else, tapping their feet and singing along to all the classic MJ songs....He was such an icon, I still cant believe he's gone. We were the first West Coast theater to see the movie because they played it in conjunction with the East Coast premier midnight showing. I can't tell you how it felt to be one of the first people in the US to see this movie. He was an amazing person, and the most incredible music artist ever, hands down. I got teary eyed at the end, just because I love him and his music so much. This film showed his true passion for his fans & his music. You get to see a side of him that you never saw in the news or the press. He's not a child molester, a weirdo, or any of those other hateful things people have said about him....He's just MJ. This movie is only playing for two weeks, so I highly recommend seeing this movie, because THIS IS IT.

To infinity....AND BEYOND!

This past weekend we went to a Halloween Party with our friends David & Liz. Justin dressed up as Buzz Lightyear....Liz's son Braeden LOOOOVES Buzz, so he had to put on his Buzz PJs. He followed Justin around for an hour before we left, talking to him and asking millions of questions....Justin took this picture with him and I thought it was pretty cute :)

Just Because...

Happy Halloween!

Last Saturday I went with my friend Liz (who also babysits Reese while I'm at work) and her boys to get Halloween pictures taken at the Picture People. This is Reese's first Halloween (not to mention my FAVORITE holiday) so I was hoping everything would go smoothly and we'd have lots of cute pictures. Turns out, Reese isn't too fond of his penguin costume. The entire inside is lined with parachute-like material, which = Baby not happy.....YEAH. He wasn't feelin' it AT ALL. We did some of Reese by himself and some with Liz's boys, Braeden & Brody. Out of the million pictures that got taken, these were the only four that came out......seriously. That's okay though, because that means I didnt spend gobs of money on pictures :) Enjoy!

The Good Ol' Kern County Fair!

On saturday Sep 26, we headed out to the good ol' Kern County Fair! This was Reese's first time, so we were hoping the heat wouldnt be too bad...well we were wrong. It was 106* that day!!! No wonder it wasn't that busy... Regardless of the heat, Reese had an awesome time. Auntie Bree bought him a Spongebob, he tried chili cheese fries and LOVED them, and met some pretty cool animals.

Reese's First Trip To The Coast!

Last saturday we headed over to Morro Bay, CA where it was a cool 60 degrees during the day. (60 degrees!) Needless to say, we were stoked to get away from the heat wave in Bakersfield for a weekend. We caught up with some old neighbors, pet animals at Avila Ranch, and had the BEST pizza ever @ Klondikes in Arroyo Grande.

Im Getting Old......

Today is my little cousin's 21st birthday. I woke up this morning realizing how old I'm getting. Where has the time gone?

PS- I will be posting pics from the beach soon :)

A New Journey

So, my morning started out a little rough. My alarm decided not to wake me up this morning and my kid wanted to sleep an extra hour I guess, THUS making me late for work.

Things started to look up though, because when I got to work my boss brought me into his office to talk about a new venture Im planning on taking here in the near future.

Ive decided to go back to school this fall for Registered Nursing. It's always been an interest of mine to get into that field, but I've never really done anything about it. Today I finally got the ball rolling. The whole program takes about 4 years to complete. I have 2 years of general education & pre-requisites, then once those are completed I can finally enroll full-time in the Nursing Program. Most of the classes will be taken online for my gen. ed. & pre-reqs, but there will be some that will only be available during the day, hence the need to talk to my boss.

All in all, I have a good feeling about where this will take me.

A look back........

I was just thinking today about how big my little man has gotten, and frankly, it makes me a little sad. I LOVE his personality and how he's trying to be so independent, but it breaks my heart that he's not my new little baby I just brought home from the hospital anymore. So I thought I'd share one of his first photos ever taken.

He was such a BIG newborn :)

GO YANKEES!!!

This past Saturday, Justin, myself, Liz, and her husband David all went to the Yankees vs. Angels game down in Aneheim @ the Angels Stadium. (Liz watches Reese while Im at work) We had a care-free, baby-free day full of baseball, beer, & boobs (haha). We also went to Hooter's after the game for some hotwings & fries (thats where the boob part comes in). Even though the Yankees lost (*tear*) the day was SO fun and I cant wait to go back! This was the first baseball game I had ever been too and Im so excited to go to more. I had so much fun rooting for my team and just hanging out with some good friends :) Below are some highlights of the day! Enjoy :)

Happy Birthday America!

So, since this is my first post, I thought Id start off by sharing our first Fourth of July adventure! I admit I was actually dreding the fireworks because Reese doesnt really like loud noises. But low and behold, he LOVED them! I even caught him yelling at them a few times :) We spent the afternoon at my best friend Nikki's In-Laws. We did some bbqing and some swimming, then everyone headed out front to light off the hundreds of fireworks that everyone brought over. Here's a few pics of the day:
